Our Story
Terrenew, LLC was created for the purpose of developing low-cost, environmentally-friendly products and methods for cleaning up environmental contaminants. The company founders came together because of their links to Cornell University, love of entrepreneurship, and concern for the health of the environment. The founders have all worked together for many years, and several have developed other successful businesses in environmental and agricultural fields. The development of OilMaster and a sister product, MetalMaster, arose from concepts of the chemical and physical structure of various agricultural waste products, including composts, plant and animal wastes. OilMaster 7x is the first of an extensive line of products developed through research in the labs at Cornell for removal of spills from solid surfaces and from water. Both OilMaster and MetalMaster, which is used for removal of heavy metals from solution, are patented and exclusively licensed to Terrenew, LLC. Thank you for your support.
Management and Organization - Founders
The founders have a wide breadth of experience and knowledge, not only about environmental issues and science, but about the intricacies of developing and operating a small business. All five will be actively involved in the business during startup and as it grows and develops. There is over 140 years of relevant business experience represented by the founders, with expertise in the following areas: business startup experience; environmental regulatory issues; science, research and laboratory testing; business development and marketing; economic development; and, agricultural and packaging operations.
Thomas Bourne - President and CEO: Geological and Environmental Engineer. Mr. Bourne possesses over 20 years of experience in environmental and solid waste/recycling operations, business and economic development, and executive management. Mr. Bourne currently presides as the President of Nextek GBL, Inc., a company that has interests in environmental arenas. Professional positions include:

Terry Spittler, Ph.D. - Director of R&D: Analytical Chemist at Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, New York – retired. Dr. Spittler possesses over 30 years experience in research and development. Professional positions include:
