Terrenew, LLC was founded in 2005 to develop low-cost, environmentally friendly products and methods for cleaning up environmental contaminants. The company's five founders came together because of their links to Cornell University, interest in entrepreneurship and concern for the health of the environment. Terrenew is located at the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park in Geneva, also called the Technology Farm.

Terrenew’s CEO is Thomas Bourne, who has more than 20 years of experience in environmental and solid waste recycling operations, business and economic development, and executive management. Working with Cornell scientists, the firm has developed four product lines: OilMaster, AgriMaster, SulfaMaster, and MetalMaster. All products were created using the chemical and physical structure of various agricultural and animal waste products.

The company is taking an environmental approach to traditional clean-up methods that have been used for years.

• OilMaster granular absorbents are more effective than clay-based products. OilMaster, available both in the granular form as well as absorbent pads, is the first of a line of products using dried dairy manure for removal of oil, gasoline, etc. spills from both solid surfaces and from water.
• AgriMaster is a "Clean Hands" revolution for greenhouses, growers and gardners. It includes a full line of Organic Potting Soils, Organic Mushroom Compost Concentrate and Dry Cow Manure Soil Conditioner that are lightweight, nutrient rich, easy to handle and are not messy to work with.
• MetalMaster uses waste tree bark as a filtration medium and used for removal of heavy metals from contaminated groundwater and industrial process water.
• SulfaMaster uses dried dairy manure as a filtration medium to remove hydrogen sulfide from gases generated in wastewater treatment, from biogas used in bioenergy production, as well as other sour gas applications.
